When you find yourself mindlessly scrolling through your phone or watching tv, shut off the device. Close your eyes for a few minutes of deep breathing. It will probably make you feel better than the mindless scrolling or tv watching. Big inhale through your nose and soft exhale your mouth.

Our goal is to send one daily tip that disconnects you from technology and benefits your health.

Our plan for this weekend is to put your phone down, turn off your tv and get in your kitchen. Make a home cooked meal and if you’re feeling ambitious, prep a few meals for the week. Cooking at home is not only good for your health (and your waistline) but also good for your pocketbook (cost less than eating out). Don’t know where to start? Ask friends and family for recipe suggestions. Get a cookbook (you can get one at the library).
